Menu Plan Monday - 4.11

Last week was terrible about the menu plans. I honestly have no clue what we ate most nights and it worked out, but man, do I ever prefer to have at least a guideline AND follow it!

This week our menu includes:
  • Monday
    • beef roast with mashed potatoes and gravy
  • Tuesday
    • pork ribs
  • Wednesday
    • grilled cheeseburgers
  • Thursday
    • chicken stirfry
  • Friday
    • homemade pizzas
  • Saturday
    • kids choice
  • Sunday
    • company's choice
It should be good!  I don't know why I try to plan for Sundays usually. For lunch we always have sandwiches, something just quick and easy for the purpose of getting something to eat after church and before the littles' nap time. And then for supper time, 9 Sundays out of 10, we have company over and we usually try to coordinate with what they want to eat. Saturday lunches are usually something Hubby fixes for the kids and we eat leftovers and Saturday nights, the kids choose to have a light supper so that they can have more junk food during our movie night. Saturdays are kind of the fly by the seat of our pants day of the week. We just never know for sure (until Friday night) what we plan to do on Saturday.

Menu Plan Monday

I have been absent for a bit and so has my menu planning. But I'm back and so is my menu planning. So here goes!
  • Leftover burgers from grilling out this weekend (I had 20 patties made up and we still have about half of them left over)
  • Lasagna
  • Hamburger and noodles (Kind of like Hamburger Helper, except not out of a box)
  • Enchiladas with beans and rice
  • Breakfast for dinner (pancakes, eggs, sausage)
  • Grilled pork chops
  • Salad bar
So there you have it. This is the plan for our meals for this week.

Menu Plan Monday

I hadn't even given much thought to the whole planning menus for this week due to the family being sick, but now that they are all mostly well again, I guess it's time to get back to the planning.

I have lots of chicken and lots of frozen sandwich meat as well, so I think this week may be heavy with chicken as the main dish.

  • Monday - homemade chicken noodle soup - made with chicken hindquarters and using the bones to create the stock, homemade egg noodles, chopped carrots and celery. Yum! I will also bake some bread to go along with this meal.
  • Tuesday - kids will be at Grandma's house for dinner and Hubby and I will probably have leftovers or sandwiches
  • Wednesday - chicken enchiladas with beans and rice
  • Thursday - white lasagna, with alfredo sauce instead of a tomato based sauce, broccoli and other greens and chicken. I will bake some super yummy parmesan oregano bread to go with this. Sounds so fantastic! (I will make this on Monday when I make the bread to go along with our chicken noodle soup.)
  • Friday - chicken stirfry, with fried rice and mixed veggies
  • Saturday - homemade pizza / kids' choice
  • Sunday - roast chicken, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole (this is the day that we have company over as well)

Menu Plan Monday

Today, I have been seriously lacking in motivation and just feel like I'm dragging. I left dinner up to Hubby tonight because I hadn't even gotten that far yet. So, tonight was a dinner from a box for the kids. I haven't been hungry at all for the last few days. I think I'm either coming down with something or well, I don't know. I don't feel ill, just worn out. But I really don't have a reason to feel this worn out, so I don't know. Anyhow, on to the menu plan for this week:
  • Monday - hamburger helper
  • Tuesday - at mother in law's house
  • Wednesday - spaghetti with meat sauce, green beans, garlic parmesan bread and fruit
  • Thursday - homemade chicken noodle soup
  • Friday - breakfast for dinner - french toast, yogurt and fruit
  • Saturday - homemade pizzas
  • Sunday - roast, mashed potatoes, corn and fruit

Menu Plan Monday

This weekend, I bought chicken for pretty cheap (1.88/lb for b/l s/l chicken breasts) so I foresee chicken in our immediate future. I cooked up some of it last night, but we ate that amount with the company we had over, so for this week, we will have:

  • Chicken fajita salads (love love love these!)
  • Chicken noodle casserole
  • Homemade pizzas
  • Leftover bar
  • Breakfast for dinner
  • Potato bar
  • Enchiladas (chicken or beef, depending when in the week we have this)
That is not the list in the order of when we will eat the meals, but rather a guideline for our dinner plans. I can't wait to get the rest of that chicken made up later today! What I make up today, I will set aside for the meals for this week and the rest of it will be stored in my Tupperware Freezer Mate containers. Love those things!

Menu Plan Monday

It's Monday and that means it is time to plan this week's menu. So without further ado (because I have a household full of various projects), here it is:
Monday: take-out (major projects happening today)
Tuesday: dinner for the kids will be at Grandma's house, Hubby and I will do sandwiches or leftovers
Wednesday: beef stroganoff
Thursday: beef enchiladas (I made some this weekend that the kids said were the best that they have ever had and Hubby feels he needs to correct this, so he is making enchiladas to attempt to regain his status as resident best cook)
Friday: homemade pizzas
Saturday: chicken casserole
Sunday: tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches

That's our basic plan for the week. It should work out fine. And since the menu is planned, it  makes my life so much easier! :) Gotta love that!

Menu Plan Monday

This week's Menu Plan is going to be mostly from my freezer and my pantry because I like those challenges that I have seen on other people's blogs for eating from the pantry and freezer without having to go to the store - or going to the store for minimal amounts of groceries.

So, here we go:

Monday - beef roast in the stockpot (It's simmering as I type...smells DELICIOUS!) mashed potatoes and mixed green veggies

Tuesday - homemade beef stroganoff and mixed green veggies

Wednesday - chicken noodle casserole and carrots

Thursday - goulash (ever have it? ground beef, tomatoes, macaroni noodles, a little of this and a little of that)

 Friday - leftovers

Saturday - kids pick

Sunday - chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans

Menu Plan Monday

I'm not planning a menu for this week. My reason for this being that I most likely will not be home and Hubby will be the one in charge of creating meals. And he is an awesome cook. So rather than planning a menu and buying the ingredients for the menu, I am choosing to turn it over to him completely. And, we have had heavy snowfall in our region this past weekend and there is a very real possibility that I will not be coming home from work once I go back there tomorrow night. I may stay in the other town at my boss's house. An interesting, seemingly unusual, arrangement, but one that should work well nonetheless. We will see if that is necessary. If I stay there in town, most of my meals will be provided for me, due to the fact that I had to stay. That's just one of the nice benefits of staying in town. So there you have it, I'm skipping MPM this week and turning it all over to Hubby.

Menu Plan Monday

I haven't had a chance yet to really take stock of our panty, so here goes.  I have a feeling that this week will have a number of changes to the menu, so here goes...

Monday - dinner out with friends (we all have gift cards from Christmas to the same place)
Tuesday - dinner out with Boo (we have an appointment in another city and will be traveling and I am not sure about what time we will be able to eat.
Wednesday - leftovers (from Sunday's big meal with my family - we have leftover turkey and Hubby will make green bean casserole and mashed potatoes and homemade gravy to go with it)
Thursday - enchiladas, rice and beans
Friday - lasagna, broccoli, garlic bread
Saturday - pizza
Sunday - chicken, roasted potatoes and asparagus

Hopefully, we will stick to most of it. It all sounds really good to me!

I only planned dinner menus because the boys eat breakfast at school, the little kids usually have cold cereal, and Hubby and I aren't really much for eating first thing in the morning.

For lunch, all three boys eat at school, only Punky and Hubby eat lunch at home and that's all Hubby. And on Thursdays, they have their Daddy/daughter lunch date. I don't know why they do it on Thursdays, but they started it and now that's what they do. Sometimes, they will even bring me home something to eat too. Yummy!

I should eat more, especially if I want to be successful with my weight loss goals, but I really have a hard time eating enough, so I may just go ahead and start doing diet shakes just to make sure that I get adequate nutrition. Especially since I am on a completely different schedule from most people.

This will be linked up over at Org Junkie. Check it out!

Menu Plan Monday

This week's menu plan is going to be as simple as can be. We have a lot of leftovers to use up, so that will make up a large part of our week's menu.

Monday: leftover beef and rice
Tuesday: leftover chinese food
Wednesday: leftover pizza
Thursday: leftover chicken noodle
Friday: a beef pasta dish
Saturday: kids pick!
Sunday: beef brisket in the crockpot, mashed potatoes

Menu Plan Monday

Well, it's time to plan that menu again, isn't it? Well, I'm ready for it. Thanks to the littlest guy's newfound ability to tolerate some dairy products, it has opened up a lot of opportunities for us.

Monday - homemade beef stew
Tuesday - just Hubby and I so maybe sandwiches?
Wednesday - stirfry
Thursday - macaroni and cheese with tuna
Friday - homemade pizza
Saturday - lasagna
Sunday - chicken noodle soup

So there you have it - our menu plan for this week. Wonder how closely we will follow it this week?

Menu Plan Monday

Well, I wasn't going to do it, but then here at the last minute, I decided that I would after all, so here goes:

Monday: homemade chicken noodle soup

Tuesday: beef roast with mashed potatoes

Wednesday: lasagna and green beans (GFCF enchilada meal for Boy C)

Thursday: leftovers

Friday: homemade pizzas

Saturday: chicken dinner bake over rice(basically find a mish mash of items, throw them together in a casserole dish with some chicken and put it in the oven until it's done)

Sunday: spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread
